Quick Cookie Post

I took some quick snapshots (using my old camera) of the cookies I took to a friend’s Thanksgiving party.  (I made pumpkin chocolate chip cupcakes from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, too, but totally forgot to photograph them.  They were good, but very rich!)  Please forgive the first blurry pic – I didn’t realize [...]

Recent Food Explorations [NaBloPoMo]

I’m struggling with what I believe are gluten issues this week.  If I’m right, it explains an awful lot.  I’ll probably be heading over to the doc as soon as I can manage it this week.  Here’s hoping.
If I do have to go gluten free, I’m a bit bummed about what that will mean for [...]

Cake. [NaBloPoMo]

Ok, so it may not be a very glamorous shot – I didn’t have time to do any more than take a quick point-and-shoot photo the day I made this – but I did mention making Orange Dreamsicle Snack Cake.  I really wish I’d gotten a better pic, because it’s really yum.  Really rich, but [...]

Birthday Goodies, Part Deux… [NaBloPoMo]

To continue…assuming anyone’s reading this somewhat self-indulgent display of received gifts. ^_-
Just like last year I got a gift certificate from my folks to Amazon, and also just like last year I spent a couple of weeks deciding what I wanted.  Totally skipped anything practical this year (I’d feel guilty, but due to a family [...]

OMG – Best. Cupcakes. Ever.

A dear love of ours made Eldest Son some strawberry shortcake for a belated birthday present.  It wasn’t bad, but it was not perfect enough that it drew a lot of razzy comments about vegan cooking.  So – with a third of a quart’s wilty strawberries in mind, I went looking for another recipe.  What [...]

knit and tonic

In my wanderings today online (looking for inspiration), I came across one of those jewels of a blog that are such a treasure to find.  This lady is literate, smart, thoughtful and irreverent  She has good things to share – including patterns, I might add.  This one is definately one I will follow.

Whew!

Long time no post, eh?
Well, as I’m sure it is for a lot of y’all, there’s a lot keeping me busy right now.  Just trying to keep above water, ya know?
So – last minute changes have me making cookies as a quick gift for a moved up Christmas celebration – so far I’ve made Breakfast [...]

Woohoo – New Bread to Try

Via The Village Vegan’s blog (now defunct, I believe), I’ve found the most luscioius-looking chocolate bread recipe to try.  The recipe is apparently not to sweet, and it’s creator split the dough 8 ways to make rolls.  Sounds perfect.  Yummy chocolate goodness with portions built in.  Can’t go wrong with *that*, right…. **grin**

Vegan Southern Comfort Food

I had the most fabulously trashy meal last night – nothing reasonably healthy about it other than the fact it was free of cholesterol.  Meet my dinner:
One project I’m hoping to get pulled together is a ‘zine of trashy, not-so-healthy vegan grub.  I’m working on these ribs right now – there is a rib recipe [...]
